We are the largest baseball and softball club in Switzerland — and we carry that responsibility with pride: for the sport, for the youth and for a fair, open community.
What began in 1985 as a small group of baseball enthusiasts is now a club with nine teams across all ages and levels. From the men’s and women’s NLA squads to the youngest T-Ball kids, we share the same values: work hard, play fair, support each other.
We believe a small sport is allowed to dream big. That is why we invest in modern structures, trained coaches and digital organization — so everyone can focus on what matters: the game.

The Barracudas are a member of the Swiss Baseball and Softball Federation (SBSF) and part of Swiss baseball history since the early years: Switzerland’s first baseball game was played on 11 November 1980 in Reussbühl LU, four pioneer clubs founded the national federation as early as 1981, and the first Swiss championship followed in 1982 — and softball has been played since 1987. Today just under 1,000 players are licensed nationwide. Since its expansion in 2009, Ballpark Heerenschürli has been the national performance center of Swiss baseball — and our home stadium.
Seven Hall of Fame members wore our jersey or shaped our club: Stephan Suter (2018), Pam Mottl (2018), Sue Fischer (2018), Carmen Lutz-Demetz (2019), Adris Linares (2019), Ueli von Burg (2022) und Mike Bundi (2025).

Batting cage instead of meeting room: we organize corporate and team events at Heerenschürli — taster baseball with NLA coaches, equipment and instruction included. Ideal as team building with a competitive kick, for groups of 8 to 40 people.
Schulen & Universitäten
Sports day, project week or university sport: we support schools and universities with baseball and softball events — with coaches, equipment and, on request, our ballpark. Get in touch — we will make your event happen.
